The ‘Beastars’ manga has ended and although there are still some stories to tell from the Legoshi universe, Paru Itagaki is preparing for the launch of his new work, ‘Sanda’.
In ‘Sanda’, the author will leave anthropomorphic animals behind to welcome human beings of flesh and blood, for a story full of criticism of Japanese society.
Although this is nothing new for Itagaki, unlike ‘Beastars’, ‘Sanda’ plans to be more forceful in attacking the behavior of adults and young people at a point where birth rates are declining dramatically.
This is a problem that directly affects Japan today, since up to 60% of its population is made up of elderly adults and each year the number of newborns in the region can be seen to decline.
The first chapter of ‘Sanda’ will be available on July 21 in the magazine Weekly Shounen Champion of the publisher Akita Shoten, counting in its debut with 48 pages in total.
Both in its first edition and in the next three weeks, the chapters will have color pages, helping readers to enter the new world of the creator of ‘Beastars’.
The announcement was published this Wednesday through the Akita Shoten official website, showing the black and white pages that were included in his latest weekly with the good news.
Let’s talk about Beastars
We cannot talk about Paru Itagaki without briefly commenting on the most relevant data of his most successful work that began its publication in September 2016 and ended in October 2020.
With 22 volumes in total, this was preceded by the one shot ‘Beast Complex’, a compilation of stories set in the same universe by Legoshi, Rouis and Haru that winked at the lives of characters that were left behind in the original manga.
Itagaki took full charge of this project from March 2016 to March 2021, gathering 3 compilation volumes for Akita Shoten publishing house.
