Be supposed to Resident Evil Village (whose review you can read here) was to be released with a multiplayer mode called Re:Verse. This was going to allow us to face other players controlling the iconic protagonists and villains of the Capcom series.
However, the launch of this game mode was postponed to July 2021 after a couple of beta tests that showed some problems. Now, Capcom announced that it will have to postpone it even more. The new release date of Resident Evil Re:Verse will be in 2022.
The official statement on this postponement, shared on Twitter, reads the following:
«The previously announced July 2021 launch of Resident Evil Re:Verse It will be postponed to 2022. This is so that the team can continue to work and deliver a smooth gaming experience. We will share more details about the launch later. Thanks for your patience and understanding”.
They also ask players who bought the physical version of Resident Evil Village not to lose the download code of Re:Verse included in the box or redeemed at once so you’re ready to download the game when its release date hits next year.
