Hello the PlayStation community! We’re Raphael Colantonio and Julien Roby, studio directors at WolfEye Studios, and today we’re proud to announce that our first title as an independent studio, Weird West, is coming to PlayStation 4 this fall.
The West is full of stories …
Strange west is all about the stories; stories of redemption and honor, stories of strangeness and strangeness, and stories of disgusting. In our game, you will play as five different characters on a series of interconnected journeys, all linked by the search for the truth behind the burning mark they have all been marked with. In this blog, we’ll go over two of those five trips.
I thought she could hang up her pull irons for good
First, we’ll talk about the bounty hunter. Once the most respected name in the West, you hung up your shackles and took a life on the farm after a deathbed promise made to your grandfather. But this calm existence will not last long. In the dead of night, you wake up with a burn mark on your neck and the sounds of screaming outside your son, dead in the dirt. Your husband is gone, and only one thing to do: unearth your long forgotten past and get revenge.
A drunken cowboy on the moon
Now let’s move on to something more esoteric in nature: The Werewolf’s Journey. You are a devotee of the absolutist faith. You have been the shepherds of the West, peaceful. But now a rival faction has started to exterminate your species. Prejudices, it seems. Malice. As your numbers dwindle and the absolutist faith has almost wiped out the face of the West, divine prophecy has shown you how to protect your people. But not without cost: an affinity for the moon. A rage you can barely contain. Finally, after a bloody night defending everything you love from evildoers, you wake up with a burn mark. Sign of a prophecy. What you choose to do with it is up to you …
You five are tied together
Strange west presents five of these unique trips. However you play – the way you fight, the conversations you have, the groups you create or destroy – you will be individual in our immersive simulation. Shoot ammo boxes to create makeshift bombs, throw fire into a tornado to create a loose fire hazard, soak your enemies before using lightning for a little extra zap; these are just a few of the ways the world will react to your playstyle and let you create your own story when we release this fall.
We hope you enjoyed a peek behind the curtain of our first game. We’re really excited to show you more of it in the coming months. Thank you and be careful!
