This Tuesday our colleagues from Kotaku published a long poll (which we repeated) on the backstage in the form of a shipwreck of Skull & Bones, one of the Arlsiennes of the French Ubisoft. A few hours later, the group published its results for the first quarter of the current fiscal year, not without causing another game that was also expected for a (very) long time.

It’s been almost a year since we had the opportunity to mention the Beyond Good & Evil 2 case, since the gun pass between ex-director Michel Ancel and the newspaper Libration, who accused him of toxic management in their studio Ubisoft Montpellier practice.
Shall we shoot the Pey’j?
Despite radio silence and the departure of Ancel, the adventures of Jade and Pey’j in the form of a prequel to the cult game from 2003 have not left the publisher’s diaries, which is why Beyond Good & Evil 2 is in the. explicitly mentioned document dvoil here.
The group’s strategy is now divided into three areas: the expansion of the largest in-house licenses, the creation of new licenses to promote player engagement and the inclusion of big names in the entertainment industry in the catalog. Therefore, alongside Assassin’s Creed Valhalla or Far Cry 6, the game is in the first category developed in the seventh municipality of France:
Renewal of a popular player license with Beyond Good & Evil 2
That’s all ? Not quite. In the conference call accompanying the presentation of the results, CFO Frederick Duguet also addressed the issue:
We’re making good progress in the development of Beyond Good & Evil 2, but it’s too early to say more.
Despite an official announcement at E3 2017, the secret about the development seems to exist and Ubisoft doesn’t seem to want to open itself to the public for the time being.
On the other hand, the Studio Montpellier could have started a new project in the meantime, like in early July from a job offer from our colleagues at emergesXboxygen. Ubisoft was looking for a community manager to “lead the community strategy of Beyond Good & Evil 2 and another unannounced game”, but the site is no longer accessible despite the backup Web archive. What a life.
From the idea that development has been put on hold, delegated to others, or simply put aside, it’s just a short step that we may or may not give you in the comments below.
