Crunchyroll-licensed anime series return, with the premiere of Fena: Pirate Princess.
Starting on August 14, the series co-produced between the orange platform and the Adult Swim team will hit the screens of its users, seeking to cause a new stir among fans of the platform.
With a promotional preview which shows the details and the animation style, as well as its main characters, the platform describes the series as follows:
The series tells the story of Fena Houtman, a young orphan. Fena grew up on an island where the only hope of its inhabitants is to be mere cattle, throwaway material for the soldiers of the British Empire. But Fena is not a helpless orphan.
When her mysterious past knocks on her door, Fena breaks the chains of her oppressors. Its objective? Forging a new identity, free from ties, and looking for a place to truly belong while discovering the mysteries hidden by a certain keyword: “Eden.”
This is the story of a unique adventurer, her crew of misfits, and the unexpected allies they’ll make along the way as they pursue their goals!
The anime was announced on July 26, 2020 during an Adult Swim online event and was simulcast during a commercial break to air on its Toonami programming block. The series is directed by Kazuto Nakazawa. Asako Kuboyama is writing the series scripts, while Yuki Kajiura is composing the music.
It will air on Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block with English dubbing and will air on Crunchyroll with subtitles sometime beginning August 14, 2021. In Japan, the series will begin airing on the aforementioned date.
