Google has released a new Doodle to celebrate the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. This may be the most complex so far, especially if we take into account that most are usually animations or images that honor a person or place.
In this case we are facing a video game called Champions Island in which we can participate in a series of sports. There is swimming, running, skateboarding, table tennis among other sports that will measure our performance in scores, but that is only the tip of the iceberg.
More complex than it seems
Since the interface is not simple menus but a whole city to explore with many NPCs that even offer secondary missions to solve. You can also get the odd secret since the truth is that everything that can be done in the game has not yet been discovered.
The aesthetic is clearly inspired by the anime, as well as the characters and the island. For example, our protagonist is what we know as “Palico”, an anthropomorphic cat that we have seen in so many other Japanese franchises. The whole title is full of very funny details and also to the competition since each player can choose a team between red, green, yellow and blue.
For now the red team is winning, so you can choose that one from now or another to challenge yourself. That said, Google has not notified how long we can play this title, the Doodles usually last a day, but the game is long enough to think about offering it longer.
To play you simply have to enter the Google’s main web. It can be played from mobiles and PCs and you can even connect a controller if you feel like it.
