While Forza Horizon 5 was officially revealed in June, the Playground Games teams regularly talk about their game. While we were able to discover some landscapes during the video that revealed the title, this time we were able to discover the different biomes of the game, creating a map 1.5 times larger than that of Forza Horizon 4.
Instead of just focusing on the size of the map, the developers wanted to stay true to the variety of Mexican landscapes. Mike Brown, creative director of the studio, wanted to offer the most diverse and contrasting décor in the series.
Mexico is a bit like the whole world in one country: snow-capped peaks, tropical jungles, canyons, wonderful beaches, ancient monuments, but also modern cities.
To represent this diversity, Playground Games created the world of Forza Horizon 5 in 11 different biomes. Each environment will have its own peculiarities: the canyon, for example, will have a much stronger echo than the jungle.
List of 11 biomes
- canyon
- Tropical coast
- Farmland
- Dry hills
- jungle
- Living desert
- rocky coast
- Sandy desert
- Marais
- City of Guanajuato
- Vulkan: This will be the highest point ever seen in any title of the saga Forza horizon

The seasons will also celebrate like in a comeback Forza Horizon 4. But instead of having the same weather across the country, each biome reacts differently to the seasons. The world will continue to evolve, for example with torrential rains in spring in the jungle or tropical storms in summer on the coasts. This allows you to vary the environments during the game and always offer different experiences. The seasons continue to change weekly.
