Xiaomi will introduce RAM expansion in MIUI 13, allowing phones can expand their RAM up to 3 GB. The Chinese manufacturer will use virtual RAM to offer this possibility to phones that use this version of its personalization layer.
This will be done through virtual RAM, what it does is recover part of the phone’s internal memory and make it work like RAM. This allows processes running on the device to continue, although the storage is slower than normal RAM.
Xiaomi will present a option in the settings of MIUI 13 which will allow users to activate this option with a single button. Thus, up to 3 GB of the device’s internal storage can be used as if it were RAM. When you want to stop using it, just turn off the button.
It is a function that can improve user experience of those mobiles which have little RAM. This will allow more processes to run on the device at the same time.
