Summer Spotlight 2021: Over 75 new games for Xbox

Games, Spotlight, Summer, Xbox

Summer spotlight is back in its seventh year and we’re excited to bring you tons of new digital games every week for six weeks. Since its inception, we’ve brought dozens of new Xbox games to fans each year over the summer. In 2015 we proudly announced that we will be releasing over 25 new games and this year we will be releasing over 75 titles between July 27th and September 6th. Additionally, the combination of Microsoft Rewards and Gift Cards was so popular last year that we decided to bring back the offer to buy Summer Spotlight titles, which also includes some popular selections from Microsoft Movies & TV.

As an additional bonus, spend $ 50 on eligible titles and receive 5,000 Microsoft Rewards points and a $ 5 gift card. The deal gets even better for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members who receive a $ 10 gift card. Here are a few Summer Spotlight titles either currently or coming soon to get you ready for a fantastic season of gaming

The door of death – This exclusive console launch released with a ton of critical successes IGN rates the game 9/10 and GameSpot claims the game is a “enjoy every step“. Harvesting souls of the dead and striking a clock may be monotonous, but for a crow it is honest work. The job comes alive when your assigned soul is stolen and you must track down a desperate thief in a realm untouched by death – where creatures grow well past their expiration date and overflow with greed and power. Discover the world of The door of death, optimized for Series XIS, and reveal all of its secrets.

The climbThe climb is another highly anticipated Xbox exclusive console launch that has been optimized for the XIS series and launches on day one in Xbox Game Pass. The climb is a solo or co-op action shooter RPG set on Veles, a packed cyberpunk world. Ascent Group’s Arcology is a corporate-run metropolis stretching high into the sky and filled with creatures from across the galaxy. You play as a worker, enslaved by the company that you and everyone else in your district owns. One day you suddenly find yourself caught in a vortex of catastrophic events: Ascent Group is being closed for reasons unknown and the survival of your district is threatened. You need to take up arms and embark on a new mission to find out what started it all.

Hades – Another critically acclaimed title that recently won the Game of the Year award the Game Developers Choice Awards, finds its way to Xbox this summer and day 1 to the Xbox Game Pass catalog. Brave the god of the dead as you hack and slash the underworld in this renegade dungeon crawler from the makers of Bastion.

Twelve minutes – With the speakers of Daisy Ridley, James McAvoy and (the epitome of the villain) Willem Dafoe. Twelve minutes is an interactive thriller about a man caught in a time warp. What should be a romantic evening with your wife turns into a nightmare when a detective breaks into your house, accuses your wife of murder, and beats you to death … caught in a twelve-minute loop, doomed to the same horror over and over relive unless you find a way to use knowledge of what’s to come to change the outcome and break the loop. Twelve minutes combines the dreamlike tension of “The Shining” with the claustrophobia of “Rear Window” and the fragmented structure of “Memento” and has been on many waiting lists since then Debut at Xbox E3 briefing in 2019.

The forgotten cityThe forgotten city is a mystery-adventure game full of exploration and deduction, and a reinterpretation of the critically acclaimed mod that won a national Writers’ Guild award and has seen over 3 million downloads. Travel 2,000 years back in time and experience the last days of a cursed Roman city where everyone dies if one sins. Solve the mystery in the heart of the city by exploiting its deadly time warp, interviewing locals, exploring and solving puzzles.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite – Set in the iconic alien universe, Aliens: Fireteam Elite is a cooperative third-person survival shooter that puts your task force of hardened Marines in a desperate battle to contain the evolving Xenomorph threat.
