Forza Motorsport 7 is not that old yet, but the title is now reaching the end of its life cycle. What that means in concrete terms, we’ll tell you in this message.
Forza Motorsport 7 was only released in 2017, so it’s currently less than four years old. Nevertheless, Microsoft is now pulling the plug, so to speak, and giving the racing game the status of “End of Life”.
What does that mean in concrete terms? Essentially, this means that you will no longer be able to purchase Forza Motorsport 7 from September 15th – neither via the Microsoft Store nor via Xbox Game Pass. There is then no longer any digital way to get access to the Racer.
And what about all the gamers who have already bought the racing game? They can download the title again as usual and continue playing it. This even applies to multiplayer and other online gaming-related services that remain active. Microsoft will even organize other esports events with partners. So nothing will change for previous buyers.
Even players via Xbox Game Pass who have previously purchased DLC for the game will not be locked out; They receive a token via the Xbox Message Center and can continue to play Forza Motorsport 7.
New players will only be added until September 15th; if you still want to strike, you should do so quickly. All in all, however, it is also foreseeable that the online services and multiplayer may no longer be maintained forever if the long-established player numbers should slowly dwindle.
