In the duel between the GPU giants AMD and NVIDIA, the former pull the next arrow out of their quiver. The new Radeon RX 6600 XT is said to be especially suitable for 1080p gaming.

Like the other RX-6000 models, the Radeon RX 6600 XT is based on the RDNA-2 architecture. It is equipped with 8 GB GDDR6 main memory, 32 MB Infinity Cache, Smart Access and other well-known features. The card also supports AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution, the upscaling solution from AMD as a counterpart to NVIDIA’s DLSS.

The card has 32 compute units. As usual, AMD relies on a high clock rate of 2,359 MHz (game clock) or 2,589 MHz (boost clock). The memory interface is relatively narrow with 128 bits. The power consumption is set at a TDP of 160W.

After the RX 6700 XT and RX 6800 for 1440p resolutions and the RX 6800 XT and 6900 XT for 4K, the fifth card of the current generation rounds off the portfolio and is in direct competition with NVIDIA’s RTX-3060 (Ti) models. As usual, there will soon be various custom models from AMD partners such as ASUS, Gigabyte, PowerColor, Sapphire or XFX.

AMD specifies August 11th as the release date, and the new card should be available from $ 379.
