A 120 Hz compatible notch less than 200 for the Xbox Series S?

Well … I was the first one who wasn’t convinced by the 120 fps at all and … Well, today I decided to dare this adventure by buyingand Konix Drakkar Freyja, a cheap gaming notch!

Hop, 209, a 165 Hz notch (which I even thought was fake, like 144 Hz that works at 165 Hz in 720p) with a response time of 1 ms and … let’s go!

If you have a good 60Hz notch you don’t need to go to 120Hz, especially if you have a “big” console like the Xbox Series XouPS5: you probably appreciate the detail in 4K / ray traced and going to 120fps you lose lots of details related to graphics and image definition to multiply by 2 the number of frames per second sent by your console (see 4)

Now as part of the Xbox Series S, well …

works wonderfully. In fact, it’s crazy. Fortnite / DOOM ETERNAL / Ori and the Will of the Wisps / UNRULY HEROES, all these games run with native screen resolution (1080p) AND 120 fps – and ultimately the perfectly sized console for this type of screen. which would be more complicated on a 1440p screen which I recommend less for this type of use, especially on 24 “… but be sure you can’t overwrite on 27” as that size is the screen, for mine Taste too big to have a good resolution at 1920×1080 resolution!

With the JeuDirt 5, however, my opinion is rather mixed. It becomes too “empty” and the 120 fps in a racing game brings enough “little” gaming experience to justify such a sacrifice in atmosphere and graphics, apart from esports or curiosity …

However, even if you have an Xbox Series S, I don’t necessarily recommend buying a 120hz screen instead of a good 60hz screen; the difference between 60 fps and 120 fps is still much smaller than it is between 60 fps and 30 fps. But most of all the type of game you play will have a huge impact on the interest of that frequency, impressive on an ETERNAL DOOM or a FORTNITE, nice and pleasant on an Ori and the Will of Whisp, but so anecdotal on a DIRT 5 … To see you.

In any case, it was great fun to discover it all in peace, because until then I just had the right to test sessions of 10/15 minutes on 240 Hz notches on oversized PCs in living rooms from video games to Overwatch at competitions, and … I have to admit that I have never really been able to assess the contribution of this flood of FPS!
