Every Pokémon is interesting and worth talking about. I don’t play a lot Pokémon, but I enjoy the universe and love learning more about the creatures in it. So, here’s another Pokémon! It is Schelgon!

Food … who needs it ?! Wait a minute, someone is whispering something in my ear … yes … oh … well, I’ll be damned! It turns out we all need food. In factif we don’t eat we die. Unless you’re Shelgon, a Pokémon who never eats or drinks (what I was told it is important too) and yet it stays alive and well and baffles scientists all over the world.
According to information on Bulbapedia, Shelgon never needs or wants to eat. At first I thought this meant that Shelgon had just evolved to never have to eat again. However, this is not entirely true. Based on the Pokedex entries, it seems clear that Shelgon is getting hungry. In Pokemon Shield, Shelgon’s entry states that it “completely ignores his hunger” Which seems to mean that it should eat. Shelgon, why don’t you eat? We are all worried about you.
Unless It’s all a huge conspiracy! You see, another Pokedex entry states that Sheldon “barely eats,” which is not the same as if he never eats. Now I know that for lack of a better word, Pokedex entries are unreliable. But that’s one of the weirdest parts of Pokedex reconning I’ve seen. Who at the Pokemon Company made the decision?his poor clam boy should totally starve yourself instead of just starving yourself slightly?

- My spell checker on my computer is constantly trying to turn Shelgon into Sheldon, so now I think about Sheldon starving from the Big Bang theory.
