Apple Releases macOS 11.5.2, Focuses on Bug Fixes

Apple, bug, fixes, focuses, macOS, releases

Last night Apple released a new update for our Mac’s operating system. Big Sur has reached version 11.5.2, which focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements.

An update that we know very little about

Normally, Apple accompanies the release of updates with a list of the changes made. This time, however, the list simply resumes “bug fix for your Mac”, which leaves us little clue as to what it may refer to.

In the area of security, after seeing several fixes arriving in macOS 11.5 and 11.5.1, version 11.5.2 “has no published CVE entries”. In other words, no improvement is made in terms of security.

Even without knowing exactly which errors are fixed in this version, the the recommendation will always be that we update our machines as soon as possible. The update can be found in System Preferences > Software update.

Apple fixes 37 vulnerabilities in the latest updates and stresses the importance of keeping our devices up to date

We can safely venture, without having more data on this subject, that this update has just fine-tuned some details and is preparing for the arrival of macOS 12 Monterey this fall. An update which, however, is the recommended installation.
