Grand Theft Auto: Rumor: Remastering of three classics in the works

After it became known that rock star parent company Take-Two had planned a series of remakes and remasters in the quarterly report, the rumor mill around GTA is booming more than ever. One of the rumors could even have its hand and feet.

GTA rumors are always something to be treated with caution. Often enough alleged news were invented to quickly generate a few clicks. However, there could be something to the current rumor, especially since Kotaku is not known for sucking information out of its fingers.

Kotaku claims to have found out from three sources that Rockstar Games is working to reissue three GTA classics as a remaster. These are said to be Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. All three games are to be remastered using Unreal Engine and contain a mixture of old and new graphics. The interface is also being revised, but should retain its classic style. Playfully, they want to keep closely to the titles of the PS2 generation.

Allegedly, Rockstar Dundee, formerly Ruffian Games (Crackdown 2 + 3) should be responsible for the implementation of the new editions and also work on the next-gen versions of GTA 5. Supposedly, we don’t have to wait long for the new editions, all three parts should appear in autumn (possibly as a trilogy) and even be published on Nintendo Switch.

It will be interesting to see what is true of these reports. If everything is correct, we have a very GTA-heavy autumn ahead of us.
