It was an open secret. A few months ago we talked about a leak from Epic Games which pointed to the existence of an improved version of the Remedy game called Alan Wake Remastered. This has been officially announced.
The official statement signed by Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy Entertainment, focuses on talking about how important the original game has been for the studio and the community of fans that formed around it. However, it does give some interesting details about this new version.
Alan Wake Remastered will have notable graphical improvements, including cinematic scenes and the same three-dimensional model of the protagonist. He also says that they will take advantage of the features of the new generation of consoles. The story and development of the game will not receive any changes. This kills off fan theories that the plot could be altered to better fit CONTROL, which takes place in the same universe.
We can play Alan Wake Remastered on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and PC (via Epic Games Store). It will go on sale in the last quarter of 2021, but the exact launch date has not yet been confirmed.
