What do we know about antiheroes? In all fairness the term is being overused these days, but let’s discuss them for this post. You are bad. Evil. Morality leaves a sour taste. These are usually the people to be beaten up.
Suppose you are that antihero. More precisely, you are the only antihero who survived humanity’s brutal attack on the Demon King’s castle. How are you? Where do you start with this anti-heroic life, with skeleton soldiers and ogres as your comrades-in-arms?
In Skul: The Hero-Slayer, You can start by moving forward and destroying all that is good and only what is in your way. The game is a 2D action platformer with roguelite features that really make you hone your skills every time you make your way through challenging dungeons and boss fights. You control Skul, a skeleton soldier who is known as the “Little Bone” by everyone in the demon army because of his petite body.
Skul may be small, but the powers he can use are enormous. The core feature of the game is the ability to change Skul’s moveset by giving him skull heads with different abilities. Each head has a different style of attack and with the option to equip up to two heads at a time, it’s up to you to find a combination that suits your style of play. As you progress, you can also collect helpful items that will directly damage enemies or give you useful buffs.
The game comes with its own challenges, but don’t let these discourage you. Even if you’re not a fan of the genre, action-packed stages and satisfying graphics give you plenty of reasons to continue your march and save the Demon King from the adventurers and the first hero. Whether you already know the game or have barely heard of it today, you’ve waited long enough; Skul: The Hero-Slayer is finally available on Xbox One! Treat yourself to a great game and start your anti-heroic journey with Little Bone now.
