Just when we think Insomniac Games I would have enough work ahead with Wolverine, it didn’t take many minutes for them to appear again during the PlayStation 5 showcase to present Spider-Man 2. Yes, the sequel to the popular Marvel’s Spider-Man (2018) is already official. Of course, you better have a lot of patience, because its launch will wait until 2023. Assuming, of course, that you are not delayed along the way.

The first thing you should know about Spider-Man 2 is that it will be a title totally exclusive to the PlayStation 5. That is, it will not see the light on the PlayStation 4; a situation contrary to what happened with the previous title and its expansion, Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Is this movement surprising? Not at all. By 2023 Sony should be 100% focused on its latest hardware as it says goodbye to the previous generation.
Spider-Man 2 will have as main protagonists Peter Parker and Miles Morales, who will join forces in an adventure that will bet on a deep narrative. “As in previous Spider-Man games, we not only want to tell a great superhero story, but also a captivating human story, full of love and humor that goes deep.” add Insomniac. This time, the main enemy will be Venom himself, voiced by actor Tony Todd (candy man).
The Burbank study makes it clear that much of the team that worked on the first Spider-Man is in charge of the sequel. This includes, of course, Bryan Intihar (creative director) and Ryan Smith (game director). “The first images in today’s trailer are just a glimpse of what you’ll find in terms of new abilities the heroes will acquire, the costumes they will wear and the villains who will try to destroy them,” they explain.
Following today’s announcements, the PlayStation 5 secures two superhero titles for the future, Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine. The second, however, will be expected beyond 2023. Insomniac indicated that it is still in an early phase of development.
