“Invasion” isn’t a slow or boring series, it’s a more human style of sci-fi

After seeing the remarkable quality of ‘Foundation’, I couldn’t wait to see the other Apple TV + sci-fi series bet: ‘Invasion“Was created a week ago, and it sets a fantastic setting, but based on our world today. What if suddenly there was an alien invasion that was being felt all over the world at the same time?

This is the premise from which the series begins, and on which its protagonists react from different parts of the world and taking into account their personal situations. The early chapters sparked all kinds of opinions, even if a server is clearer than it’s a question of concentration.

Warning: From here I’m going to mention a few light SPOILERS from the first four episodes of the series. Read this article at your own risk..

Some of those who saw the first episodes of the series they accused her of being slow, to dwell too much on what happens to the characters and not on the invasion itself. I don’t quite agree with that, and personally I think the show is looking for a different way of looking at science fiction.

I’m not going to make the typical “everything doesn’t have to be an explosive movie like Michael Bay” comparison, because I don’t think we are. There are examples of recent sci-fi movies like “Dune” that just tell a good story with just the right amount of special effects (I really liked the movie, by the way).

‘Invasion’ is a series that tells you what characters who might be considered “secondary” are doing in a plot that encompasses the whole world. If we imagine this same plot put in the heads of other directors, the story would be told from the Oval Office of the White House, the Kremlin or Buckingham Palace. We would see world leaders react to this invasion, revealing the details with satellite networks and armies across the planet working for them.

We are seeing a story being told in the background, of some people trying to survive something they don’t know what it is.

But here what we see is an attempt with some realism to know what would happen among the general population. As the communications are cut, no one knows what is going on. Each of the protagonists takes action and imagines the possible causes of it, but no one knows exactly what is going on and is limited to trying to protect family and friends as best they can. We see reactions even in the middle of the Afghan desert, where the invasion should have been less noticeable. It should.

Where I am coming from is that the series can seem boring if you expect scenes of cities being destroyed by alien ships. But the series seeks to show what ordinary people do in the face of an invasion that very little is known about, at least for now. Personally, the series keeps me going, so much so that I did what I usually avoid and I saw the first three episodes of the sweater.

Invasion is perhaps a unique seasonal series and reveals a little more than what we’ve already seen about Invaders. And that wouldn’t let me down. What we’ll see will be if the protagonists survive and how they fare, and perhaps how some of them get key information that allows humanity to defend themselves from the attacks they are subjected to.

“Invasion” is another angle to watch science fiction. This is another way of putting it. I won’t say that I watch the best series in the world, but I see it as a good exercise and a very interesting story that I will of course continue to watch until the end.
