We recommend new ways to master your device’s operating system.
After more than a month after the official launch of iOS 15, iPhone users are starting to get used to all the new features implemented in this version of the mobile operating system. But there are always aspects of the software that not everyone is familiar with …
From iPadízate, we are going to recommend that you activate a series of new features of iOS 15 that will help you take full advantage of the user experience that this iteration offers us. Join us and learn about all the new privacy and security options that Apple Logo Signature has included in iOS 15.
New iOS 15 privacy settings
1. Record application activity
Apple introduced a new feature that allows users to save a weekly summary of when apps access certain information such as microphone sounds, camera images, photographs, or location.
In addition, this function also offers the possibility to check when a website within the applications contacts the domains. This new feature will give you much more control over what the apps you use do.
To activate this configuration of iOS 15 follow these steps:
1. Open Settings.
2. Enter the Privacy section.
3. Click Record Application Activity.
4. Activate the function.
Remember that this new function will only collect data from the last 7 days.
2. Hide the IP address in web browsing
Your privacy is as important in the applications you use every day as it is in the websites you visit. And it is that today web pages collect all kinds of data about us. It is therefore extremely important that we do everything possible to protect our privacy online.
Apple has made Safari one of the main protagonists of this update to iOS 15 with many design improvements in the user interface, new functions and privacy settings like the one we recommend below.
There is a special feature in Safari that allows you to hide your IP so that websites cannot track your web browsing. If you don’t usually use VPN apps on a regular basis, then using this new feature will help protect your IP address from any intruders wanting to track your data.
Follow these steps to hide your IP address in Safari:
1. Enter the parameters.
2. Go to the Safari section.
3. Scroll down to the Privacy & Security panel.
4. Activate the “Hide IP address” function.
Depending on your country, you may also have the option to hide the IP address of web pages and / or trackers.
3. Protect privacy in Mail
The protection in Mail is another new privacy feature introduced by Apple in iOS 15 software. With the new operating system update for iPhone, you will be able to easily protect privacy of your activity in your messaging manager.
Not only will you protect your information from possible trackers, but you will also be able to protect it from Apple itself. Also, as iDrop News aptly points out, this is a very easy feature to configure.
To activate the protection of your emails, follow these steps:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Enter the Mail section.
3. Find and navigate to the “Privacy Protection” section.
4. Activate “Protect activity in Mail”.
3. Stop sharing data with Apple
Finally, the last setting that we recommend that you activate to protect your privacy is to no longer share with Apple the analysis of your data on the use of your iPhone. After each major update, Apple asks for your permission to share your activity with them to “improve their services”.
Similar to how it happens with Siri privacy, it is also possible to stop sharing your iPhone usage analysis. By turning off this feature, you can prevent Apple from knowing what you are doing on your device.
Follow these steps to stop sharing your data with Apple:
1. Open Settings.
2. Enter Privacy.
3. Go to the “Analysis and improvements” section.
4. Disable “Share analysis (iPhone)”.
These are all the features we recommend you turn on (and off) on your iPhone to prevent third parties from tracking your data and invading your privacy. We hope you found this helpful!
