Another week has passed, another look at the Steam Charts is due: Which games have sold the best in the last few days and which titles have to give up? Particularly pleasing for fans of the genre of real-time strategy, which is repeatedly declared dead: Age of Empires 4 achieves a triumphant victory on the battlefield, even against strong competition such as New World or the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The first place is not enough for Age of Empires 4
But instead of being satisfied with the undisputed triumph and at least sitting on the throne until next week, Age of Empires 4 also grabs second place on the podium thanks to the separately counted pre-order version. This shows how popular a good strategy game can still be – and AoE 4 is even very good if it weren’t for the problems with the campaign:

Behind them, New World can still hold its own in 3rd place. Even several weeks after the release, the MMO is not in calmer waters and is still plagued by problems and displeasure of many players. Most recently, it wasn’t just a now fixed invulnerability glitch that caused trouble.
The developers also had to take a stand on whether New World is simply based on a bad code base and is therefore so prone to exploits and other stumbling blocks. You can find out why this assumption came about and what the developers’ answer is here:

Starlord has to fight for top spot
If we leave the podium, the still very successful zombie spectacle Back 4 Blood follows in 4th place. Fast-paced multiplayer games always work, even if the game still revealed a few quirks in our test that need to be eliminated.
But what about the Guardians of the Galaxy? After all, at Marvel in the cinema you are used to claiming the top spots for yourself. But at least on the PC, Starlord and his wonderfully weird colleagues have only had to make do with 5th place. The title is a real feast for Marvel fans, as you can see in our video:

What else is happening on the Steam Charts?
The Football Manager 2022 can secure the sixth place. Age of Empires 4 follows in 7th place for the third time, thanks to different versions. Eighth place goes to gritty deckbuilding roguelike Inscryption, which is currently rated at over 13,000 reviews extremely positive
Evaluation is coming.
9th place goes to the breathtakingly beautiful arcade speedster Forza Horizon 5 dust off. You can see with your own eyes how good the game looks in this video. And loyal readers of our format may know which permanent representative is still missing from the Steam Charts? Right that Valve Index VR-Glasses. It just clings to its regular place in the bestseller list.
