Call of Duty: Vanguard is casting its shadow ahead. From November 5, 2021 you can plunge back into the battlefields of World War II in both single and multiplayer. Your PC must of course meet certain requirements so that the fun of the game does not come to a standstill. We took a detailed look at the demands Vanguard places on your hardware.

The system requirements of CoD Vanguard in detail

First of all, it should be said: If the 2019 Modern Warfare ran smoothly for you, Vanguard should not be a problem for your PC either. After all, both games use the same engine (IW 8) and are otherwise similar in many respects. With the minimum and recommended requirements, Sledgehammer Games did not name the target screen resolution, but we assume Full HD in view of what is shown.

Minimum system requirements

For the sake of clarity, let’s proceed step by step and first consider the minimum system requirements. These are extremely low and should even be met by an old gaming PC. A more than old CPU like an AMD FX-6300 (Release 2013!) Is already sufficient. The 8 GB of RAM and a Geforce GTX 960 or Radeon RX 470 graphics card shouldn’t pose too much of a hurdle either.

Do you want only multiplayer and zombie mode play, only 36 GB of hard disk space is used. If you value textures in high resolution, this value almost doubles to 68 GB.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit)
  • CPU / Processor: Intel Core i3-4340 or AMD FX-6300
  • RAM / working memory: 8 GB
  • GPU / graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon RX 470
  • V-RAM: 2 GB
  • Hard disk space: 36 GB (multiplayer and zombies only) plus optional 32 GB (high-resolution assets)

If you want to play multiplayer above all and do without the campaign, you will find all the information about the huge scope of Vanguard’s multiplayer modes here:

Recommended system requirements

If you want to turn most of the controls to the limit in Full HD, the requirements also increase significantly. But here, too, the following applies: Those of you who have upgraded in the last three to four years should not expect any problems. But now a more modern processor and a more powerful GPU are required.

On the hard drive Vanguard approved 61 GB if you installed all components of the game. High-resolution textures in all virtual situations are available for 32 GB more, so a total of 93 GB.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • CPU / Processor: Intel Core i5-2500K oder AMD Ryzen 5 1600X
  • RAM / working memory: 12 GB
  • GPU / graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580
  • V-RAM: 4 GB
  • Hard disk space: 61 GB (campaign, multiplayer and zombies) plus optional 32 GB (high-resolution assets)

Question: Is CoD Vanguard innovative enough for you? If not, it doesn’t have to be bad at all, because even the latest infusion in a shooter series can and should be fun. Our shooter experts explain why this is so in the GameStar Podcast in great detail:

Competitive system requirements

What the developers called competitive understand, stay open. We interpret this information as a guarantee that you will always achieve high frame rates in multiplayer games in order not to have to accept a competitive disadvantage.

The requirements are now increasing accordingly. A powerful six- or eight-core CPU and a Geforce RTX 2070 or Radeon RX 5700 XT graphics card must now do their job inside your case if high FPS are essential for you.

  • Operating system: Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 (64-bit)
  • CPU / Processor: Intel Core i7-8700K oder AMD Ryzen 7 1800X
  • RAM / working memory: 16 GB
  • GPU / graphics card: NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2070 / RTX 3060 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700XT
  • V-RAM: 8 GB
  • Hard disk space: 61 GB (campaign, multiplayer and zombies) plus optional 32 GB (high-resolution assets)

And what are the requirements for 4K / Ultra?

If you are only satisfied with the best of the best and want to experience Vanguard in all its glory in 4K, you should own a high-end computer. But: Then the new Call of Duty looks really good, see for yourself:

The requirements on the processor and memory side are not higher than those of the competitive specs. But in 4K the many assets take their toll and require a graphics card with at least one 10 GB Videospeicher (VRAM)so that there is no picture stuttering or unsightly mud textures that arise from reloading from the slower main memory.

Specifically, a Geforce RTX 3080 or a Radeon RX 6800 XT are mentioned so that you are on the safe side. Due to the high resolution, your hard drive will be filled with an additional 64 GB of hard drive space for the high-res assets in addition to the 61 GB required.
