Today was the release of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise DLC, which had been announced by Nintendo a couple of months ago. Unfortunately, as with the release of Metroid Dread on October 8th, it hasn’t exactly been a completely smooth experience for some players.
Nintendo’s official Australia and New Zealand account has mentioned that “Animal Crossing New Horizons players who own the Happy Home Paradise DLC may experience gameplay bugs if they visit Resident Services and ask to remodel a resident’s home while the gates at their airport are open. We recommend players to not attempt to remodel an island resident’s home while the gates at their airport are open. As long as the airport gates are closed, you should not encounter these gameplay bugs when remodeling residents’ homes on your island”.
Nintendo says that, if you encounter these bugs, end the gameplay session, close the game, and re-launch it. According to Nintendo, your save file will not be affected. As for a fix, Nintendo confirmed that they will “share more details soon, and a patch to fix this issue will be released this month”. Their tweets about the matter are down below.
