After confirming the first mobile to come out with the new version of the international layer, Huawei revealed that EMUI 12 is based on Android 11 and that it would reach other phones of the brand. After the Huawei Nova 9 and Nova 8i, the beta would be operational in the Huawei P40 and Huawei Mate 30 in some countries in Asia and Russia.
It doesn’t look like HarmonyOS will eventually arrive in the West as an update since this operating system is for China
The EMUI 12 beta on the Huawei P40 and Mate 30
The news comes to us from the center of Huawei, they have confirmed that EMUI 12 beta has started in some Asian countries and also in Russia
We tested our Huawei Mate 40 Pro via the Beta app without finding a project to register yet. EMUI 12 testing is scheduled to be extended, in principle from November 8 until the end of December. Huawei has confirmed that would bring the update to their mobiles during the first half of 2022.
EMUI 12 isn’t a big aesthetic update, although it brings some HarmonyOS touches, as the greatest relationship between devices. In addition, the new version of EMUI is based on Android 11, which is a big improvement, both in terms of performance and battery management as well as security and privacy.
If you have a Huawei mobile and want to keep track of EMUI 12, we recommend that you install the beta app: frequently check new projects for your device and sign up if they appear. The spaces available are limited for each smartphone model and, once filled, it is no longer possible to register.
