Since 1998, All Nippon Airways has launched Pokémon Jets, which are planes covered in pocket monsters. The themed planes have been wrapped in a range of Pokémon over the years, with fans in Japan either hoping to spot them at airports or getting them to their destination.
However, one thing that has always been consistent is that the Pokémon Jets were ANA planes. Well, a new Pokémon themed airplane will fly in the sky over Japan, but it is not classified as a Pokémon Jet as it is not an ANA plane.
Instead, this Vulpix Jet is called Hokkaido and will fly in the fleet of the low-cast regional airline Air Do, which serves Japan’s northernmost prefecture. One side of the plane features Vulpix while the other is covered with the icy Alolan Vulpix. In the aircraft, the seats are fitted with Vulpix headrest covers. The drinks are served in Vulpix paper cups by flight attendants wearing Vulpix aprons. Passengers can also receive limited edition postcards and stickers.
But why Vulpix? The Pokémon are used to advertise Hokkaido and appear on manhole covers, as well as snacks and groceries.
“Alolan Vulpix is known as the Fox Pokémon and thrives in mountains of snow,” writes the official Pokémon site. “It was chosen to promote Hokkaido, one of the snowiest regions in Japan. Vulpix, also in the Fox Pokémon category, supports Alolan Vulpix in presenting the best that Hokkaido has to offer residents and visitors. “
With ANA being a major investor in Air Do, it’s no complete surprise that The Pokémon Company signed off on these Vulpix jets.

New Pokémon Snap – Nintendo Switch
The adorable sequel we never thought we’d see
20 years later, we finally have more content to explore and 171 more Pokémon to snap cute little pictures of as they dance around and eat apples.
The Vulpix Jet Hokkaido will begin service from Tokyo’s Haneda Airport on December 1, and will fly to locations in Hokkaido such as New Chitose Airport, Asahikawa Airport and Hakodate Airport.
Tourists are currently prohibited from entering Japan, so some readers may fear that they will not see the Vulpix plane in real life. Do not be. The Vulpix Jet Hokkaido is said to be in service for at least five years, so international Pokémon fans can experience the plane up close once the country is fully open.
