Some younger fans of the recently released puzzle game unpacking Have problems with a level and that’s not because they are bad at the game or the level has a particularly tricky solution. That’s because some of these fans don’t know what a GameCube is.
unpacking is a new game from Witch Beam where you unpack and arrange items in your new home. A relaxing break from moving, the game lets you rotate, arrange, and then rearrange objects while finding suitable spots for everything in limited space. At the end of the level, if you put something where it technically doesn’t belong – like putting a plate under your bed pillow or throwing everything on the floor – you won’t be able to get to the next section in the game.
The game is meticulously designed – there are 14,000 audio files just for recording and filing – and has every household item under the sun, from bottle openers to erasers. And this is where the GameCube comes in. While players can try and arrange unpacked items in different locations, there are certain areas where an item can be officially posted. And the GameCube has proven to be a major stumbling block for some gamers.
“We got so many messages asking what it was!” unpacking
Lots of players tweeted on the official unpacking Twitter account asks what to do with the GameCube. As a joke Twitter user Sanatana Mishra collected a few screenshots of people asking about the console and said, “Do you remember all these memes about things that make you feel old and decrepit?” Have fun with these tweets. ”
unpacking was originally discontinued in 1997 and will continue into the early 2000s. Brier said the team decided to play the game during this period because the developers knew best since they were going through it for themselves. “The age of the main character is exactly halfway between my age and the age of my co-creator Tim Dawson,” said Brier.
For some on Twitter, replies to the GameCube in unpacking Even came with the rude awakening that the console hit the market nearly twenty years ago. While it may seem silly to some people, it makes a lot of sense not to recognize a GameCube right away. It’s an old console now, and I don’t want to imagine how many people don’t recognize a Nintendo 64.
