A new original chapter is due Dead by daylightand it really proves that the pen is mightier than the sword. In the two previous chapters Season of the Witch and Hellraiser, a character was introduced each. The next chapter, Portrait of a Murder, returns to the format where players can unlock a killer and survivor, as well as a new map.

The new map has some interesting surreal architecture and a ton of crows. The Forsaken Boneyard is set in the Chilean desert and is home to our newest killer.

That killer is Carmina Mora, known as The Artist. The artist is accompanied everywhere by a murder of crows that once saved her life. This killer seems to be on the nicer side; After the crows saved their lives, the experience inspired them. She was once a street performer who worked to expose local corruption until she earned a few too many enemies and ended up in a cemetery with no tongue or hands. The entity, the dark antagonist behind the game’s larger lore, brought Mora into his realm and she now serves as one of his killers.

Jonah Vasquez is now a Mexican-American CIA code breaker who has been haunted by a series of numbers his entire life. When these numbers came up during one of his CIA investigations, he tracked them at the Forsaken Boneyard through to graduation. Now he’s in the entity’s realm and his main job is not to die in the hands of all the killers.

Dead by daylight will also appear in the Epic Games Store. The game will be released on Epic in December; all content is made available, including previous editions of all DLC available at the time of publication. There will be cross-platform play and progression between Steam and Epic so veterans won’t have to worry about leaving their account behind.

Portrait of a Murder is slated to appear in November, the exact date has not yet been set.
