After its release, Battlefield 2042 will certainly captivate many gamers in multiplayer mode. However, they have to forego a feature for the time being and fall back on other alternatives.
Even if there are some game modes that rely on coordination and consultation, Battlefield 2042 will not have its own VOIP feature for the time being, i.e. for voice chat you will have to use other alternatives such as Discord or Teamspeak. According to EA, the voice chat should be submitted as soon as possible, but until then you have to deal with something else.
No problem for clans or friends who gamble together anyway, but bad for those who slip into a hazard zone squad via matchmaking, for example, and cannot communicate with their fellow players except via text or ping, which is of course less beneficial.
It is currently unclear why no VOIP was integrated, but it is conceivable that moderation, reporting of toxic players and the like play a role. Unfortunately, the operation of a voice chat system is no longer as easy as it used to be.
But don’t let that stop you from having fun with Battlefield 2042. EA Play Pro subscribers with the Special Edition can get started today, everyone else can let off steam in the game from November 19th. But stay nice and friendly!
