It’s no secret that Xbox Game Studios are working on new games. At least some information has leaked out about two of the new titles, apparently a role-playing game and an action-adventure.
There have been no announcements for new exclusive games for the Xbox consoles for a long time. But now, due to a leak from Xbox Game Studios, some details about at least two new games have leaked.
One has the project name Pentiment and is being developed by Obsidian Entertainment (Pillars of Eternity, Grounded). Apparently it is a role-playing crime thriller set in Europe in the 16th century. According to the information, you take on the role of an investigator who is supposed to solve a gruesome murder. The game should appear as a narrative role-playing game, similar to Disco Elysium, with a branched story that develops depending on your actions and decisions. The game is slated for release in the course of 2022.
The other title, code-named Midnight, is produced by We-Happy-Few developers Compulsion Games. This is a third-person action adventure in a dark fantasy world, based on Gothic literature from the American South, but with elements of fantasy. The single player title should also contain a coming-of-age story and should still be relatively far from an announcement or a release.
What is really there remains to be seen. As I said, it is a leak, official information is still pending on both projects, if they exist.
