What an evening we had for the 20th anniversary of the brand! A teaser for the upcoming Halo series, an infinite beta, a documentary announcement, and a variety of announcements for the Backward Compatibility Program. Speaking of the latter, there might be an ad on the news stream that you haven’t seen in the past. In fact, this new wave of title addition will also be the last on the service.
This latest and ultimate addition to the backward compatibility program with over 70 titles was only possible thanks to the passion and feedback of the community. Your constant requests for titles and specific enhancements have encouraged the team responsible to work with the original developers to bring you thousands of games across more than four generations of Xbox. While we continue to focus on maintaining and developing the artistic form of games, we have reached the limits of our ability to add new games to the catalog of the past due to licensing, legal and technical restrictions. Thank you for being part of this journey with us.
The backward compatibility program launched in 2015 is being adopted. There are more than 600 titles that have received a second youth. Improved Resolution, Auto HDR, FPS Boost: Real conservation work has been done to bring the larger world of timeless gaming to life. All of this at no additional cost to the player.
We are excited to see which project the team will focus on from now on.
