The Elder Scrolls 6 will certainly want to play both PS5 and Xbox Series X fans, but Xbox boss Phil Spencer hints at the game release for only one of the platforms.
- The Elder Scrolls 6 appears only for PC and Xbox.
- A release on PlayStation is becoming increasingly unlikely.
The Elder Scrolls 6 is one of the big RPG highlights of the coming years and fans across all platforms will definitely want to try the title. This is unlikely to be possible.
Xbox boss Spencer goes into an interview with the men’s magazine GQ from an exclusive release for Xbox and PC, similar to Starfield, which will appear in 2022 for those platforms.
“It’s not about harming other platforms. I basically believe that all platforms can grow. But to be on Xbox, I want to get the best out of it. And that’s true when I think of Elder Scrolls 6. That applies all of our brands too, “continues Spencer.
Exclusive release more and more likely
That sounds like Microsoft won’t release The Elder Scrolls 6 on PS5 and fans of the series who have a PlayStation are probably a bit concerned about such statements.
The final confirmation is still missing, maybe there will be a pleasant surprise after all. In addition, PlayStation fans can still switch to the PC, provided that it meets the future system requirements.
Takeover by Microsoft
Microsoft has taken over Zenimax, including Bethesda, for the equivalent of around six billion dollars.
In November 2021, Bethesda also released The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim again, as an Anniversary Edition. These are also available for PS4 and PS5.
