For years we have been talking about how big the smartphone market was and how it was growing year by year, but in this kind of discussion we always leave out the most important truth. How many phones are sold each year? Any best-selling mobile apps?
Knowing sales statistics provides a great context for the current state of the smartphone that allows us to entertain the situation with a better view. We tell you how 2019 ended and how important it is in the stock market.

How many cell phones were sold in 2019?
Knowing how many phones are for sale is very difficult to know with full accuracy, because today there are few brands that will publicly disclose how much they sell. If we do not know the statistics in the closest way, we thank the market analytics organizations.
In this regard, Travel Analytics has prepared a report detailing the deployment of smartphones by 2019. This does not specify how many mobiles the community has sold, but how many mobiles have left the factory for various stores. However, it does give us a fair estimate of the situation.
After graduating 2019 we already know the number of smartphones sold during 2019, reaching a peak 1412 million units distributed, slightly lower than the 1431.6 sold in 2018. Sounds amazing, right?
How has the market evolved over the past 10 years
Collection of millions of units sold each year according to Strategy Analytics (Spreadsheet)
Although more than 1400 million units are distributed in disorder, if we put these figures closer to some of the years we see a better perspective than the smartphone market completed in 2017, the day the maturity has gone. 2018 was the first year when sales were lower than the previous year, and far from being an isolated case, in 2019 the same situation was repeated.
Likely, in the coming years we will see that each time there is less sales until they reach a point where the situation remains. It is not a problem or anything like it, but it is a sign that the market has already reached its peak and that mobile phones need to be updated slowly and steadily. It's something that happens in any kind of market.
