We already know the nominees for the game of the year at the Game Awards

Awards, game, Nominees, Year

Some of us have known them for months, and others are quite surprising in this edition of the Game Awards.

You know the year is already over when the Game Awards nominees show up. This year it looks like there isn’t as much rivalry as in the other editions, being on the games list that somehow we all know they can be worthy of. opt for the price. Even like that, there are surprises on some titles that weren’t on the list, as can be the case with Cyberpunk 2077 from CD Project or himself Forza Horizon 5 Playground Games, who did not enter this starting grid. Despite these absences, the list is full of great titles as we will see below.

And the winner is…

Platform games have taken the cake this year, with a good representation thanks to several proposals. We start with one of our favorites, the famous Psychonauts 2 developed by the good of Tim Schaffer and Double Fine. Its storytelling, its true mix of settings and the themes it touches make it worthy of this award-winning award. Fortunately or unfortunately, good old Raz won’t be alone in this best game contest, since other platform titles also want number one, as is the case with Ratchet & Clanck: Rift Apart, which has demonstrated power and technical strength to place itself among the best.

Nintendo is also well represented this year at the Game Awards with Metroid: Terror, game which dazzled fans of the franchise but also neophytes who discover Samus Aran for the first time. If we are fans of horror proposals, then maybe your game is Resident Evil: Village, who single-handedly showed what dreaded vampires can do, no matter how sexy Lady Dimitrescu may seem. Of course, we can’t forget one of the favorites in all pools, and that is Death loop, with his peculiar play pattern, he fell in love with half the world. An adventure that runs out of steam with each trailer that it presents, but which ultimately left a very good taste in the mouth. And finally, the indie of the year which enters the list for its own merits: It takes two. Will we see the madness of Josef Fares on stage?
