Microsoft is very attached to video games, so much so that the Xbox is already an integral part of Microsoft’s strategy for Windows and the business in general. I’m not saying this by just thinking about buying studios or building consoles, I’m also doing it by looking at the deals Redmond has made with Unity and other graphics engines. But it also includes the acquisition of tools like Havok or PlayFab.
Now here is a new American invention designed for anyone to program games. It’s called MakeCode Arcade and it’s a simple development environment for 2D games and sprites. Those from Redmond promise that with a few clicks you can create games.
MakeCode Arcade is free for everyone
This tool, also available in web version, combines Javascript, Python and the use of blocks of text to represent the routines and other elements that make a game come true. MakeCode Arcade is packed with examples, tutorials, and more so you can learn practically from scratch.
This tool is not new, but it finally has an app available for Windows 10 that you can download. from this link
With a few blocks or lines of code, you can create your own custom games for others to play. Try making maze game, treasure hunt or spaceship game – making your favorite arcade games has never been easier!
