Battlefield 2042 has finally been playable for all fans since November 19, 2021. But even in Early Access it was foreseeable that some serious technical problems and bugs could arise.
We collect all information for you about the greatest difficulties, including suitable solutions – if they exist. You can find out what is said to have improved with the freshly released first patch in the appropriate article That’s all the changes in Update 0.21
.
Are the servers currently down? If you’re dealing with bugs and problems in Battlefield 2042, you may also be wondering whether the game’s servers are currently online at all, or are down due to maintenance work or malfunctions. We will inform you about the current server status:

Loading the persistent data (error code 4C and 13C)
What does that mean? If you get this error message, you cannot connect to the servers and you end up in the start menu again.
What can you do As in one previous tweet was announced, the cause of the bug is on the Battlefield 2042 site, so it has nothing to do with your internet connection. At the moment, the only thing that helps is to disconnect from the server and then try again until it works.
In the more recent tweet from November 17 below, DICE takes up the problem again, as it is currently piling up again. Work on a solution is already in progress. It remains to be seen how the situation will look after the brief downtime of the servers and the application of the first patch. At the same time, it is not taken up in the patch notes.

Revive-Respawn-Bug
What does that mean? Sometimes the timer won’t expire if you go down – you won’t be able to be resuscitated or respawn. Sometimes your comrades cannot pick you up if you die too close to walls or shallow water, like on Reddit is reported.
What can you do Unfortunately, the only thing that currently helps here is to leave the match if you are caught in the loop. DICE urgently needs to provide a fix here, at the moment the bug is ruining the fun of the game. For example here at Profi Shroud:

Unclean aiming
What does that mean? Many complain about the imprecise shooting feel of Battlefield 2042, which just feels unclean, especially when compared to earlier parts. This is partly due to the controversial bloom feature, which is the random spread of your weapons.
What can you do To improve precision, you have to coordinate mouse and keyboard control and controller settings – even if you are not using a controller. A bug, as it is officially called. It is important that the destination settings under “Walk” are the same everywhere. YouTuber megaquest explains in detail what you have to pay attention to here in the video:

Infinite waiting loop at portal
What does that mean? According to EA, players can get stuck in line at popular portal modes without ever ending up in the game.
What can you do Currently, Battlefield 2042 does not offer a way to get out of a queue. So you have to quit the entire game (easiest with Alt and F4) and log in again.

Getting stuck in breakthrough
What does that mean? It can happen that at the end of a round in Breaktrough mode you simply get stuck when changing the map and you cannot continue.
What can you do In this case it only helps to leave the match and restart matchmaking. A patch should fix the bug in the future.
Progressions-Bugs
What does that mean? These display errors occur, for example, when you unlock new weapon skins or increase your rank. The rewards are available to you, but you are incorrectly shown that you have not made enough progress.
What can you do Most of the time, a restart helps, in all other cases you will unfortunately have to wait for a patch. Such annoying bugs are one of the big problems for us that a day-one patch must fix.
Progress is of course an important concept in Battlefield 2042: As your rank increases, you get access to even better equipment, which is why many players want to get a lot of XP as quickly as possible. We have put together a number of tips and tricks for you to help you level:

DirectX error message
What does that mean? Several players complain that an error message from DirectX appears when starting Battlefield 2042 and refuses to start. Sometimes the error does not appear until a few minutes after starting the game and immediately terminates the application.
In our Technology check By the way, we found that you need a really strong system for Battlefield 2042. And even then, it’s often not that easy to break the 60 FPS barrier at all.
What can you do There is no general solution for this, because here too you have to wait for a patch. In some cases it should help to restart the game or the PC. A few players also report that an update of the graphics card driver helped.
The option Future Frame Rendering
to deactivate. This can be done either via the options menu or, if the game does not start due to the error, via the configuration file. Proceed as follows:
- In the folder Documents Battlefield2042 settings you open the file PROFSAVE_profile (best with the tool Notepad ++)
- then looks for the entry there
GstRender.FutureFrameRendering
and changes the value to 0 - saves the file and then starts Battlefield 2042

Wrong throwing object is displayed
What does that mean? In the spawn screen you will see a different throwing object than you actually equipped. The error occurred after DICE deactivated the prox sensor to combat server lag and rubberbanding. If you have saved the sensor in your loadout before deactivating it, it can also happen that your new loadout is not taken over permanently.

What can you do Don’t worry: the throwing object bug is just a display bug. In the game you still have your chosen throwing object with you. If the loadout bug affects you, you have to readjust your equipment at any time. When DICE will reactivate the Prox sensor is still unclear at the moment.
A current overview of which errors EA and DICE are already aware of and what is currently being worked on can be found here on the official FAQ website to Battlefield 2042. There you can also report bugs yourself.
