Halo Infinite: Co-op campaign and Forge mode postponed

The multiplayer mode of Halo Infinite got off to a somewhat surprising start before the actual release on December 8th. For other planned content of the action title, however, it now looks gloomy.

After the successful multiplayer start, the Halo Infinite campaign will be available as planned on December 8, 2021, but two other major modes that have been longed for by fans are now taking longer than initially thought. Meant are the co-op campaign and the Forge mode.

In an interview with Eurogamer Jospeh Staten from 343 Industries commented on the subject and indirectly confirmed the postponement. The background to this is that the first season was recently extended from March 2022 to May 2022 – and the other modes will only follow afterwards. This means that co-op and forge modes will not be available until May 2022.

As recently as August, that State had confirmed that the two modes should be available three and six months after the launch, respectively. Background to this: The co-op campaign is to be part of season 2 of the game, the Forge mode is planned for season 3 – and these two will now start later after the extension of season 1.

As the man from 343 Industries emphasizes, the plans for the content in Season 2 and Season 3 have not changed; this goal remains the same for the makers. He also emphasizes that these are really only goals that can be delayed even further if major problems are encountered.
