With so many action cameras at such varying prices, it can be confusing to decide which model to buy. Should you look for a cheaper alternative that looks like GoPro? Or is it better to pay more and get the original model?
As we explain below, there are some products that offer good value for money, but in general, we can say that the more you pay for the model (at least in reference to the ones in this article), the more they deserve it.
The latest GoPro model comes in the form of the Hero 8 Black. However, older models are still available on shopping sites. online as Amazon (and usually cheaper).
Here you will find our recommendations of the most effective GoPro or camera models, and the differences between them.
GoPro Hero 7 Black
Although the latest GoPro model already exists, that is, the Hall 8, the previous model is cheaper, and still in excellent condition, so we continue to recommend it.
It has, like the Hero 6, a 12Mp lens with 4K video capture at 60fps. The last feature is HyperSmooth, a built-in GoPro function that boosts video images to many resolutions, but not to 1080p or 2.7k at 120fps.
But recording 60fps is okay, and the results are excellent. It's also the first GoPro to stream from your phone, even at 720p.
Action by DJI Osmo
Given the good quality of the Osmo action To our surprise he couldn't take a place on the GoPro market for this type of camera.
The fact is that you are a very competent opponent of Hero 7 Black and claim something cheaper. Its design, specifications and features are generally amazing. In fact, it might highlight more than the Hero 7 Black in some respects.
It is waterproof (up to 11 meters deep), can record HDR video and has a new screen design. We're not just talking about the basic monochrome LCD screen on the front, like most Go Goros. Instead, you can switch to live viewing on this screen, as if using your phone to adapt to it.
This is useful in several cases, as does the DJI stability program, called "RockSteady".
DJI Osmo Action has its tastes and is very limited about it, and all this for a cheaper price than the Hero 8 Black. In addition, it is compatible with other GoPro media.
GoPro Hero 6 Black
The GoPro Hero 6 Black It's one of the most expensive sports cameras, but it helps.
Although its design is exactly the same as its original model, the GoPro Hero 5, the interior features of the new model are quite different.
Most surprisingly, GoPro used the first-ever processor in this model instead of using the standard Ambarella as many cameras do.
This means that GoPro has been able to give Hero 6 a series of over 4K improvements, ranging from 60 fps and 1080p to 240 fps.
For example, it has the best quality in low light photography, in addition to the powerful range. In addition, it has three axis stability, including 4K.
For photos, there's an HDR mode that combines three shots, and a 5 GHz 5-HH connection that reduces the transmission time by half when sending videos to your phone to edit or share a Quik application.
The touchscreen is much faster and has a better response. Voice control has improved: you can now turn on Hero 6 by simply telling it to turn on. That's amazing, right?
In conclusion we can say that the price of GoPro looks a bit expensive, however, the quality of the photos and videos you can use to compliment this device makes it worthwhile.

GoPro Hero 5 Black
Model GoPro Hero 5 It was a huge change from the previous Hoog 4 model in many ways, but not in image quality: still recording at 4K at 30fps.
The difference is that you can record at high speeds with low resolutions, and that it is enhanced to video stability, because the recorded video will not "move" too much.
Also waterproof or waterproof (up to 10 meters deep), and the design looks much more resistant than the previous model.
It has a touch screen, where you can also see the camera recordings, in addition to being able to change in all the settings you need.
Two other points worth considering about GoPro Hero 5 are its integrated GPS and the ability to control the recording with voice commands.
Best of all? Your price! With new models, the GoPro Hero 5 can be found for € 329.99. Very well deserved.

Yi 4K action camera
The Yi 4K is an excellent GoPro system, with attractive design, touch screen and many useful tools.
Some GoPro models are cheaper than the Yi 4K, however, this camera allows you to record 4K and has a great touch screen.
With the Yi 4K you can always record in a loop for 120 minutes continuously, but for this you will need a more compact memory card, in addition to a fully charged battery.

SJCAM SJ7 Star
The SJ7 is the first SJCAM model that offers 4K. It's not as refined as the GoPro, but we forgive all its failures to know its price: around € 100!
It can record great videos with Hero 4 Black, in addition you will find lots of space in the box that makes it worth more than that.
It has a touch screen and built-in wifi.
Details:
- Picture: 16 MP
- Video: 4K 24fps, 2K 30fps

Are GoPro Clones Recommended?
Although the original GoPro cameras can be expensive in some ways, they are certainly worth their excellent quality.
For so many years in the market and in the fame of many countries on the planet, they have managed to become a reliable, unmatched product.
We love how GoPro has managed to incorporate voice commands into its product, as well as beeps that indicate the recording has started or ends (it may seem silly, but if you use it you'll see how important this is if you want to record while wearing it in a helmet).
The latest GoPro models come with voice commands, thanks to which you can use the camera without having to unplug it (something very useful for a device you're thinking of using while doing any kind of physical work).
The fact is that we have never encountered any clone with the same features, which means that if the camera is attached to your motorcycle helmet you wouldn't mind if it started recording successfully or not.
Some of these clones do come with remote control through apps, however, to our knowledge, apps are often as imperfect and harmless and reliable as GoPro, while battery life may be worse.
However, there are situations where other options may be worth considering, especially considering low-cost models.
In fact, one of the best Clone manufacturers SJCAM, a brand that can provide the most appropriate action cameras. However, be careful: there are also clones of this kind of product that may not be as good as the original.
Another sighting, as we've mentioned above, is the DJI Osmo Action which is an amazing rival for Hero 7 Black at a low price.
