Genshin Impact update 2.2 brought two banner replays, which means there were no new characters in recent days. However, the official version 2.3 Livestream of miHoYo has confirmed that it revealed two new characters that we will see in update 2.3.
Banner replays have become very common in the Genshin Impact world, and it seems like each new update consists of two banners, a new character, and a banner replay. The official livestream of update 2.3 has revealed the content that players will receive in the next update, including two new playable characters, Itto and Gorou.
Both characters are ready to join the live servers in the second part of the next update 2.3. This means that players will be able to pull them in about three to four weeks. A credible leak on Reddit has revealed more about his game, including his English voice lines.
Arataki Itto has been leaked multiple times in recent months and players will finally get a chance to shoot for him. This witty character has quickly become a fan favorite thanks to his interesting looks and goofy demeanor. He is most likely a DPS character considering his ascension attribute is Critical Damage, which already gives him an advantage on the DPS scale against most characters. When it comes to its Elemental Burst, it will provide a buff for a couple of seconds, similar to Razor’s or Beidou’s Elemental Burst. The buff will allow his normal, charged, and submerged attack to deal geographic damage.
It seems that miHoYo has intentionally put Gorou on the same banner as Itto because his abilities have great synergy. The entire Gorou team relies on having multiple Geo users in their group. He is actually one of the weakest characters in the game if not paired with two one or two Geo characters.
Albedo will also be part of the update, which means that players will be able to assemble an entire Geo group in a single patch. He is one of the most underrated support characters, as his impact is not as striking compared to other support or sub-DPS characters like Zhongli. MiHoYo’s biggest announcement has revealed another Geo character, Yun Jin, who could also have great synergy with this team.
Genshin Impact is now available on mobile devices, PC, PS4, and PS5. A version of Switch is in development.
