Saints Row will have a delivery soon and since Volition they have been in charge of reminding us that they are working on it
Volition have been responsible for developing Saints Row since the initial delivery, by the hand of THQ. When it went bankrupt, the studio became part of Deep Silver, with whom they released in 2013 the last game of the saga so far, Saints Row IV. This title was a release between generations, appearing at the same time on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Later came remastering of the different games of the saga, taking advantage of the pull of the new machines.
A new Saints Row game is in development. That's all we can say at this time.

The fact is that we have been a whole generation without a Saints Row designed exclusively for these consoles, which suggests that the new title will surely point to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The only Volition project that came after Saints Row IV was the mediocre Agents of Mayhem.
It seems that after the disappointment with the creation of a new IP, Volition has returned to work on its star saga, one of the most sold in recent years. Will we have more information soon?
