Granted, quarterly reports don’t sound particularly exciting. But there is interesting information in the current CD Projekt Cyberpunk 2077: especially details about the plans for the next big patch 1.5, the NextGen upgrade and the first expansion. We summarize the most important information compactly for you.
Information from the new earnings call
When will patch 1.5 come?
For the first time there is concrete information about the planned release of the next major update. Patch 1.5 should appear at the same time as the NextGen upgrade – so PC gamers also have reason to be happy on this day.
No one wants to commit to an exact date yet, but it should be in the first quarter of 2022. So someday between January and April 2022. It is not yet known what exactly is in it, but meanwhile the developers have declared that they no longer want to concentrate only on bug fixes, but rather on new content and comfort improvements.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now running much more smoothly than when it was released. The game is currently experiencing a noticeable upswing on Steam, which was also fueled by the autumn sale:

Why Patch 1.5 and not 1.4? Actually, the next patch that is due would be number 1.4. However, when we asked, CD Projekt has confirmed that the next update will be titled Patch 1.5 instead.
As a reason, CEO Kicinski said in the call that they wanted to use a round number to emphasize that it will be a particularly big update. All improvements are to be bundled in a patch for the NextGen upgrade, so none will appear before that as planned.
What is known about the NextGen upgrade?
We already knew that the free upgrade for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X should appear in the first quarter of 2022. It is now clear that not only is the upgrade free, nothing changes in the total price either. In other words, the NextGen version of Cyberpunk 2077 costs just as much in the shops as the current one. President Adam Kicinski made this clear.
What is known about the first expansion and DLC?
As a reminder: CD Projekt uses DLC to denote small, free content such as new jackets or cars for V. When “expansion” is mentioned, then it means full story add-ons, think of, for example The Witcher 3: Hearts of Stone.
The first expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 is currently in the works, according to the presentation sit more developers than ever before
to it. But a release is not yet in sight: Kicinski expressly did not want to commit to the fact that the release is planned for 2022. There is also no information about the price yet.
In the meantime, some modders are officially working with CD Projekt, so there should be even better tools for fan-made content in the future. You can already get a lot out of Cyberpunk 2077:
