When Jeff Bezos and William Shatner can go into space, surely someone can bring Hideo Kojima there too. He would really like to go. During a recent press screening for Last night in Soho, the game creator once again emphasized his desire to become an astronaut.

Corresponding Oriconwhile i’m talking about it Dreams, said Kojima: “I want to be an astronaut.”

“JAXA [Japan’s version of NASA] accepts applications and I am figuring out what to do, ”he added. “Since I have to quit my job, I’m worried about it.”

This is not the first time Kojima has spoken about his desire to go into space. As Vice points out that the game developer spoke about his dream of becoming an astronaut in a 2009 essay recently published in his book The creative gene:

If I could have just one wish in my life – if I could cast a spell and make something come true – it would be, ‘I want to go into space before I die.’ It doesn’t have to be anything as extravagant as a trip to the moon or Mars. I would be happy with just a short orbit just past the Earth’s atmosphere, where I can stroke gently over space. I would give up anything to fulfill that wish: my current job as a game designer, which I have been building for forty-five years; I’m even ready to throw away my family or my own life. That’s how powerful I am – or rather, to say weather– Longing for the cosmos.

Kojima would give up everything to achieve this, including his current position in the game industry and would be totally happy with a short space orbit! He doesn’t have to fly to the moon or Mars – that’s fine with him just beyond the earth’s atmosphere. Can’t some billionaire bring Hideo Kojima into space? He would definitely have a good time! Make it happen.
