Warframe fans take note: Digital Extremes is working on The New War, the most extensive story expansion in the long history of the game to date and which now has a fixed date.
Digital Extremes has hosted a devstream one last time for this year and has now finally published the information that fans have been waiting for months: The new expansion The New War should finally appear on December 15, 2021 for all platforms.
The free-to-play expansion of the free-to-play game combines a personal story of self-discovery with an action-packed space opera that takes players across 16 planets with 3 open worlds as they restore balance to the broken Origin system.
The next and largest chapter in Warframe’s free cinematic quest series, The New War, lets players control new playable characters for the first time as they go through dramatic twists and turns in 3 acts. As they experience various missions in new environments, including open worlds besieged by Sentients, players will master dangerous new threats and challenges as they find answers to long-standing questions about Warframe’s sprawling sci-fi universe.
You’ll also take control of iconic enemies like Kahl-175, Grineer, Veso, Corpus Tech, and Dax: Teshin as you fight across the Origin system to repel the invasion of the Sentient Force. Additional features introduced with The New War include new customizations, weapons and accessories, as well as the game’s 48th unique Warframe, Caliban – a Sentient-Warframe hybrid.
