Loadouts, i.e. the ability to bunker certain weapon and armor combinations and store them on demand, have long been on the wish list of Destiny 2 players. That could soon become a reality.
The right setup for every activity – that would be too good to be true in Destiny 2. But so far you have to laboriously create the right items and mods yourself for each activity. a tedious fiddling, especially since there is such an extensive mod system for the armor. So far it has been harder to get by with external tools like the Destiny Item Manager, but it could all become a lot easier soon.
Bungie itself still has no way of saving loadouts (why not, Bungie?). But with the upcoming update on December 7th, new features are apparently to be released. On the basis of “free and reversible socket actions”, the possibility should apparently be offered for third-party developers to create appropriate apps that can be used with the game.
According to Bungie, external Destiny 2 apps should be able to save not only weapons and armor, but also Armor 2.0 mods, weapon perks, shaders, ornaments and ghost projections as loadouts or create them using tools. This is only a semi-official solution, of course, but far better than nothing. We are excited to see what the mod community will come up with.
