The new design integrated a few weeks ago revealed a spectrum of sound waves simultaneously while recording a voicemail message. These waves moved according to our tone of voice. However, It looks like WhatsApp wants to bring this same design based on moving waves to the reproduction of all audio messages.
This feature was already tested by WhatsApp six months ago, but has been removed in the next beta. However, the arrival of the beta 2.21.240.18

As you can see from the image at the top of the article, the new interface eliminates the solid line we currently have when playing back a voicemail message. It is therefore modified by a dynamic sound wave that matches the tone of the message we are reproducing. According to WABetaInfo, even with the beta installed, this new interface does not always appear. It only appears when the other person has the beta and has the feature active. We’ll see if WhatsApp finally releases the change globally or if it’s just testing to keep moving forward in the development of new features for the app.
