If your iPhone got wet and you think it might be damaged, here are the steps to take.
The water resistance of iPhones has improved a lot in recent years, so now it is not that common to have water problems on iPhones. However, if your iPhone got wet and you think it may be having issues, here are the steps you can take to minimize potential water damage.
1. How water resistant is your iPhone?
The latest iPhone models, from iPhone 7, are splash and water resistant. While it is true that Apple does not recommend submerging them directly, if you have one of these models, the iPhone is more likely to survive if it falls apart:
- iPhone 13: IP68 (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes)
- iPhone 13 mini: IP68 (maximum depth of 6 meters up to 30 minutes)

Despite the fact that the iPhone 12 is full of new features, some rumors have remained unanswered.
If you own any of these iPhone models, probably nothing has happened to your device due to humidity, then dry it and wait 5 hours before charging it.
2. Turn off your iPhone
The first thing to do if your iPhone falls into water is turn it off immediately. This will prevent further problems as water conducts electricity and could affect the internal components of the device.
3. Dry the iPhone as quickly as possible
Now what you must try is to dry the iPhone as best as possible. You can use a cloth or a towel, the important thing is that it does not leave lint. Once it is completely dry on the outside, move on to the next point.
4. Remove the SIM card

5. Bring out the water

6. Leave to dry, if possible in a ventilated place.

7. Do not charge it
