Following the launch of Shipment’s preseason, Season One brings two new free multiplayer maps: Paradise and Radar. Read on for the strategies and tips that will get you MVP status in no time.
Starting today, December 9, Paradise and Radar will be available in the first season of Vanguard, and the new Caldera map from Call of Duty: Warzone Pacific is also available to all players, so if you’re looking for the best tips , you can consult them in the blog de Call of Duty.
Courtesy of Season One, these maps offer an assortment of new Pacific-themed territories to fight in, along with the introduction of a brand-new Battle Pass that includes new weapons, perks, projects, and more. Now, let’s prepare you with strategies and tips for the deployments to come.
Paradise (launch)
Welcome to Paradise, soldiers. Although the skies are clear and the tropical setting is seductive, it is anything but a vacation. This medium-sized map takes place on a militarized island, with tall rock formations in the center and various interior locations built throughout.
Players using short-range weapons such as submachine guns and shotguns will likely want to stalk the lower half of the map, where rock formations rise higher around narrow lanes to focus on melee play. As you move north, the terrain opens up, so sniper rifles, machine guns, and marksmanship rifles are good options.
Noteworthy is the northern laboratory, where an internal staircase leads to an imposing, yet exposed, viewpoint, ideal for long-distance combat. There is also a staircase that descends to an underground path that leads to the central crane. The eastern observation bunker offers another position of deadly power, with superior cover as additional defense against incoming missiles.
Top 3 tips
- Watch your steps. Stay away from the toxic sludge near the accident site, near the Laboratory. Its nasty mix of chemicals will harm you on contact. If you also take into account the red barrels and nearby cars, this is a big danger zone that would be best avoided unless you are setting a trap.
- Bring the cover to you. Approaching the Labora tory is not an easy task, not even when taking the underground passage to avoid the open area. Carry the Deployable Cover Field Upgrade for extra protection in an instant. You can mount it to improve accuracy, and even to shoot blind when the going gets tough.
- Let it Rain. Here the sky is open, and only a few scattered buildings and the underground passage offer protection above. Thus, Category 5-Kill Streak offers great options for taking down enemies in the open. Choose the Glider Bomb for precision eliminations, Mortar Bombing to suppress enemy hotspots, or the War Machine to dislodge snipers stationed in bunkers.
Radar (launch)
A reimagined version of the fan favorite Dome from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Radar moves the location to the Pacific with a comprehensive visual overhaul that maintains the map’s fast-paced, frantic combat style.
Situated on the coast, the map consists of three main locations: North HQ, West HQ, and South Radar. Among them are a maze of vehicles, makeshift buildings, and storage boxes where close-range combat reigns. Long distance players will want to stick to the long middle path to keep combat operators in close quarters at a safe distance. The Radar walkway is another favorite spot, providing dominant sightlines on the central map.
With such tight interior spaces, be aware of the heightened activity, especially when Casualty Streaks start to drop. Every time your team calls for an air strike, like a Glider Bomb or Bombardment, you can bet your enemies will start swarming inside looking for safety… it’s your job to make sure they don’t find it.
Top 3 tips
- Exposed walkway. The Radar walkway is a favorite vantage point for getting easy kills from above, but don’t get too comfortable up there. As the game progresses, the destructible boards will deteriorate more and more, exposing your position even more.
- Block your signal. Confuse and disorient the enemy team by placing an Inhibitor in the center of the map or inside a high priority building. By slicing their information from the minimap, it will be much more difficult for them to anticipate your attack.
- Grenades out. With such tight interior spaces, as well as the outer maze, you’ll do well to direct your attacks with a throw from your tactical and deadly gear. Do you need that Dominion B flag? Throw a Smoke Grenade to cover your trail, followed by a Gamma Bomb, or better yet, the new Incendiary Grenade unlocked for free at Tier 39 of the Season One Battle Pass.
