Sony shares details about God of War’s PC system requirements ahead of its release in January 2022 including platform-specific enhancements.
God of War PC Specs Announced Including 4K and 60FPS Requirements
God of War heads to PC next year and Sony have now shared more details about PC spec requirements. A new trailer has also been released alongside these new details.
God of War 2018 follows the journey of Kratos after his encounter with the gods of Olympus, reuniting once again with Kratos who now sports a beard and slight change in outlook. Kratos is also joined by his son or better known as “BOY!”, living the much quieter life in the snowy realm of the Norse Gods. Of course, nothing stays quiet for long as another adventure ensues, this time with his son joining in.
As God of War heads to PC on January 14th 2022, Sony has now outlined the specs you’re going to need to run this semi-open world adventure, including the minimum requirements. At the very least to run the game at 720p at 30 FPS, you’re going to need either an NVIDIA GTX 960 (4 GB) or an AMD R9 290X (4GB) equivalent. Of course, this is running the game at the lowest graphics setting, running on either an Intel i5-2500k (4 core 3.3 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 (4 core 3.1 GHz).
For recommended, which is 1080p at 30 FPS, you’re going to want to have either a GTX 1060 (6GB) or AMD RX 570 (4GB), running on an Intel i5-6600k (4 core 3.5 GHz) or AMD Ryzen 5 2400 G (4 core 3.6 GHz). However, getting it to run at 60 FPS will at least require a GTX 1070 (8GB) or RX 5600XT (6 GB). Any hopes of running the game at 4K at 60 FPS will need an RTX 3080 or AMD RX 6800 XT which still are a little hard to come by or at quite a price.
The title supports Nvidia’s DLSS and Reflex technology, plus AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution.
