Microsoft hit the mark with the Xbox Game Pass, as the game subscription is very popular. This has also been available for the PC for a long time; the naming, which may be a bit unfortunate, is now being adapted a little.
PC gamers also benefited from the Xbox Game Pass, because Microsoft’s Netflix game also offers all sorts of well-known PC games – sometimes even right from the day they are first released. One of the more recent examples here is the strategy epic Age of Empires IV.
So far, these offers had been published under the name Xbox Game Pass for PC; For one or the other pure PC gamer, the Xbox branding is still a bit confusing and the “for PC” seems more like a small appendix to the console offer. Microsoft has now apparently also realized this.
Via the official Twitter account of the Xbox Game Pass for PC, it has now been announced that the offer on the PC will appear under a new name in the future. Instead of Xbox Game Pass for PC, this is now officially called PC Game Pass in the future. Microsoft wants to prevent further confusion in the future.
Apart from the name, nothing changes in the overall offer. The Xbox Game Pass is still available as normal, there is no price increase and everything else remains the same. The new name is only intended to make it clearer more quickly which title is available where.
