It had to happen: With the success of the Wonder Woman license in the cinema, the most famous Amazon is now landing on our PCs and consoles.
During the 2021 Game Awards, we discovered the existence of Wonder Woman, a game developed by Monolith Productions and produced by Warner Bros. Note that Monolith has been responsible for the Middle-earth games for the past several years. The studio therefore has a definite liability when it comes to the action adventure genre.
A game on the subject?
The game’s plot is still pretty vague, but we know it’s a single player, open world action title in which the beautiful Diana wages a battle to unite her family of Amazons and people of the modern world. Surprise! Or not.
Wonder Woman will use the Nemesis system from Monolith from the game The Lord of the Rings. This system enables you to fight and eliminate a whole list of opponents. This mechanism is also patented by Warner, so it is imperative to make it profitable. However, it remains to be seen whether it will not just be a copy-and-paste with a Wonder Woman skin, but actually a quality game with real new features.
The DC Universe in video games is growing, welcome Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman is therefore part of one of the many DC games in preparation under the direction of Warner Bros., as we can also count on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from Rocksteady Studios or Gotham Knights from WB Games Montreal.
Of course, one can already wonder if the next big game about a well-known DC character wouldn’t be Superman, as rumors have been circulating about him for many years. In any case, The Wonder Woman game obviously doesn’t have a release date.
