Call of Duty is celebrating the holidays in style on PlayStation with the Festive Fervor event taking over Vanguard and Warzone Pacific starting December 17th. Have fun with new vacation-themed modes, packs, challenges and more. Here’s what to expect throughout the event:
Vanguard brings joy to multiplayer and zombies
In honor of the holidays, Vanguard will roll out several limited-time multiplayer features, all in the name of good humor. Let’s start by taking a closer look at some of the party foes you’ll encounter in the field and where the development team drew their inspiration.
Elves Six Team: Seek out and destroy the legendary Elf Six team, hidden around Vanguard’s multiplayer maps, to earn Killstreak progress and extra match score. Find them before they disappear … and stay on your toes as they approach.
Developer Overview: Raven’s team wanted to make fun of the new tradition of hiding an elf for people to find. The team thinks that some people who deal with this tradition would rather blow up this annoying elf! So they decided to let you do this.
The development of Elf and Seek was fun to set up at the Studio. Having fun on the new map, finding nooks and crannies to place the elves, exploring and seeing the pesky elves is a fun experience, and for some, terrifying. I mean, they’re scary! We are very happy to have fun rewards related to destroying elves for players. We’ve placed them all over the Caldera, and we hope you have fun finding and taking them out however you want.
Krampus: Campers, beware! The folk horror character Krampus will appear in multiplayer matches designated to hunt down those who ignore the objective. No time on the Hardpoint? Didn’t take a single Domination flag? Then you can bet he’s coming for you.
Developer Overview: Ever since the developers of Raven heard about the Krampus after being caught eating chocolates, they’ve been fans of this mythical and downright terrifying Anti-Santa. When the opportunity arose to have Krampus in Warzone, they could NOT wait. Raven’s goal was to create gameplay that would show players what it is like to be the target of a bounty contract executed by a demon!
As the team developed Krampus, they delved into how he would hunt down, attack, and choose his victims. They tested those decisions with play tests and got to see firsthand what was most exhilarating for the players. Raven has created a robust NPC system for Krampus, and they hope you’ll enjoy taking him down … or you know the latter. For those Krampus hunters, there is a hidden gift for you.
Armageddon: Fill your stockings with Care Packages in this version of Team Deathmatch. Appearing as Drop Zone in previous titles, this mode sees teams battling for control of a designated area, where Care Packages will be continuously dropped off for pickup. Open up your killstreaks and help spread the joy.
The mischievous Elf Team Six and Avenger Krampus aren’t just contained in multiplayer, either. Read on to learn more about the roles these winter warriors play in Warzone Pacific.
Additionally, Shipment becomes Shipmas, a winter wonderland of chaos and joy, and other seasonal visuals arrive in game modes like Domination and Hardpoint, and even in the winter base of Stalingrad in “Der Anfang” in Zombies. .
Additional gifts for Vanguard owners
In the spirit of giving, anyone who purchases or has purchased Vanguard before December 31st will receive the following rewards: 10 level jumps from the Season 1 Battle Pass; a 10% bonus to all XP earned for players, weapons and the Battle Pass; a free Warzone vehicle skin; and the 24 Vanguard levels that were featured in the Season Six Pre-Launch Battle Pass.

Broken resolutions: This nine-item pack will soon make you forget about all of the year’s broken resolutions. Get two Battle Pass level jumps in addition to the Legendary and Epic Operator, Armory, and Player Profile items. Noteworthy is the “Pop Bottles” finishing move, the stylish “Midnighter” operator skin for Beatrice and the “Cover Charge” assault rifle.
Complete challenges, get rewards
Throughout the Festive Fervor event, all players will have the opportunity to complete Vanguard Multiplayer Challenges in exchange for free rewards, including the epic LMG Blueprint if you complete all six challenges in Vanguard Multiplayer or Warzone Pacific.
In Vanguard, challenges include removing holiday nuisances in all multiplayer modes, playing Shipmas, and opening healing packages like gifts under the tree. The rewards include a Battle Pass level jump, Double XP token, and cosmetic rewards for your weapons and player profile.
Spread the joy in Warzone Pacific too
Outside of Vanguard, Caldera and Rebirth Island will be hosting their own limited-time celebrations.
Festive trees: In Caldera, admire the specially marked festive trees spread throughout the island. Squads that stay near the tree for the allotted time will be rewarded with multiple Supply Boxes, including Holiday Crates that can contain Legendary items, limited-time rewards, or even Coal for Operators on the Villain List. .
Developer Perspective: Deck the Halls
Like many families during the holiday season, incredible battles take place under the tree. Raven has just leveled up in Warzone. Players will be fighting for resources under trees, and the developers want to reward that tenacity by upgrading it. Plus, snowballs are in these chests, and who doesn’t love throwing snowballs?
Raven is hoping that gathering under the tree to capture these points of interest sparks some fun player stories, akin to holding Domination Points. Their advice is not to be too greedy, however. If you’re hit by smut in a crate because you’re mean, you’re next for Krampus. The team wanted Krampus to be connected to this and make a player think… “Do I want to open this chest?”
Attention Krampus: Vacationing across Caldera and Rebirth Island, Krampus hunts operators for the sport on both maps. He particularly prefers to hunt those who receive coal from Holiday Crates. The creature will spend a limited amount of time hunting each target before moving on to the next, until it is eliminated, providing a special permanent match reward for the team that eliminates it.
Elf and seeks: Krampus isn’t the only home on Caldera and Rebirth Island. Find and destroy these holiday gnomes to receive rewards like a Double XP token or a calling card.
Those looking for additional rewards can also complete six unique challenges in Warzone Pacific, each with a reward like a Battle Pass level jump, Double XP token, and more.
